NAIL, GANGS & VIETNAMESE – MỘT BỨC CHÂN DUNG THÔ, ĐẦY CẢM XÚC
PRIVATE MEET-UP WITH CAST & CREW OF "NAIL, GANGS & VIETNAMESE" RECEIVES WARM WELCOME
The intimate gathering between producer Kiet Nguyen and the film crew of "Nail, Gangs & Vietnamese" was a resounding success, drawing special attention from the media, press, and the overseas Vietnamese community.
Hosted by producer Kiet Nguyen, the meetup featured director Dinh Cong Hieu, guest artist Ha Linh, director Thanh Nam, and key cast members including Huu Dat, Kim Ngoc, Thuy Hang, Tan Hao, Jack Quoc, Ngoc Tram, Bui Hong, along with other actors and production team members.
Behind-the-scenes memories were shared warmly, from long shooting days to the emotional moment of seeing their vision take shape on screen.
A Message from the Heart – Producer Kiet Nguyen Speaks
Kiet Nguyen, known for the emotional hit "Pho – From Pain to Flavor," shared his heartfelt motivation behind producing "Nail, Gangs & Vietnamese":
“I wanted to tell an honest story about the lives of Vietnamese immigrants in the U.S.—where some were forced into gangs, violence, and crime. Yet, it was the nail industry that gave them a second chance, a space to love, regain honor, and choose a better path.”
Kiet emphasized that the nail industry has brought stability and success to countless Vietnamese families in the U.S. – helping them afford a good life, send their children to school, and even become salon owners. However, the profession still struggles for proper recognition.
“Many successful nail professionals still hesitate to admit what they do. Through this film, I want to say that the nail industry is a profession to be proud of. It has changed lives—and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
Media Coverage & a Striking Trailer Premiere
The meetup was also attended by various media outlets from both Vietnam and abroad, including Bolsa TV, which conducted interviews with Kiet Nguyen, the director, and the cast.
The premiere of the film’s trailer left a strong impression. Despite being just a glimpse, its visuals, acting, and powerful storyline convinced many that this would be a landmark film—not just for the Vietnamese diaspora but for all lovers of meaningful cinema.
Actor Huu Dat, who plays Tran Nam—a character torn between a dark past and a desire for redemption—shared the emotional weight of portraying someone trying to rebuild his life through the nail trade.
Veteran actor Huy Cuong, known for tough gangster roles, surprised audiences with his portrayal of David Thai—a cold, complex crime boss with deep internal conflict.
A Tribute to the Nail Industry
The gathering ended in laughter, reflection, and high hopes: that "Nail, Gangs & Vietnamese" would not just entertain but also serve as a heartfelt tribute to the global Vietnamese nail community—an industry that’s not just a livelihood but a life-changing force.
When asked about his next project, Kiet Nguyen shared with excitement:
“I’m thinking of making a horror film next. As a producer, I love challenging myself and constantly exploring new genres.”
"Nail, Gangs & Vietnamese" is set to premiere soon on the Kiet Nguyen Vlog YouTube channel. The team hopes it will gain strong support from both domestic and overseas audiences—especially those whose lives have been forever changed by the nail industry.
